LiveWell Clinics projects report Spring 2012

LiveWell Clinics projects report Spring 2012

We have experienced unprecedented growth and success with Livewell Clinics in Kenya Africa.

In March of 2012 we officially opened our 5th location in Kenya in the township of Masimba. Adding a fully functioning medical clinic outfitted with a community pharmacy, lab, general medicine, and specialty services to our already flourishing Livewell community starting with our anchor location in Kayole and our satellite locations in Matopeni, Karatina and Karagoya.

Each clinic is fully installed and trained on our operating system that we developed “in the cloud” on a platform called Practice EPR.

In addition to Practiceforce we have squired part ownership in a local company to provide a CRM solution (IE: Human Resources, Inventory Management, etc.) that has been fully integrated with Practice EPR on a scale that is marketable globally.

Community Outreach:

We are proud to announce that literally thousands of local Kenyans have received benefits arising from our tireless efforts in community service.

Each month a topic of communal concern is targeted through free classes and workshops where issues ranging from women s health, the importance of immunizations, self medical checks, and discounted medical products are brought to the community by licensed healthcare professionals.

This has resulted in staggering numbers of consultations, prescriptions, treatments, immunizations, and services being given out as follow up, private appointments.

These appointments also result in the creation of a unique patient number that is associated with a medical record for use as personal medical history, follow up care in a hospitals, and tracking of geographic trends in medical phenomenon for use on a potential global scale.

Over 10 community based icons have been appointed as Livewell Ambassadors to bring the message of health and wellness to every facet of the community.

LiveWell Clinics projects report Fall 2011

Our newest clinic will be known as the 'Masimba Clinic' and is a Satellite clinic in Kayole.  Building works are almost complete, we expect branding to be done next week and will open 1st of November.

We are having a mini-launch of our Kerugoya Clinic this Saturday 22nd October.  Guest of Honors will include the Mayor of Kerugoya, the District Commissioner and the Medical Officer of Health is also expected.  Full preparations in gear, definitely will send a report and pictures after.

 Community Outreach

LiveWell is happy to announce the appointment of 7 'LiveWell Ambassadors' in Kayole.  The seven are all highly respected women working and living in Kayole, who have used LiveWell Services.  Ambassadors will act as key liaisons for LiveWell in the community, promoting trial of LiveWell services and most importantly, providing us with feedback from the community and suggesting improvements in service packages and delivery.  We shall share profiles of the Ambassadors with time, and look to replicate these appointments at all clinics.  We also wish to recruit men as Ambassadors, to build up to 10 Ambassadors for the main Kayole Clinic.

 YTD Treatment

In September LiveWell Clinics provided over 2,000 treatments to needy patients, a growth of over 100% of numbers recorded in January!

 Prevention Programs

October is 'Hygiene and Prevention' Month at LiveWell.  In addition to provision of free Breast Cancer Checks, LiveWell Clinics are all promoting improved Hygiene through talks at nearby Schools and with organised womens' and MFI groups.  We also have special offers on toothpaste, toothbrushes, disinfectant and soaps.

 Leveraging Technology

Our clinic in Matopeni is the first recipient of Carego Internationals practiceforce Electronic Patient Record application.  LiveWell Clinics also uses healthsoft application in the Kayole clinic to manage patient records.  At LiveWell Clinics we are utilizing these technologies with our mobile Early Detection and Technology System (EDPS) so community healthcare workers can diagnose and detect disease as they reach into rural areas to deliver healthcare.  We are committed to leveraging sustainable innovation to impact healthcare in rural areas.

LiveWell Cards Project Update July

We are pleased to submit an update to our LiveWell Cards Project.  Project to date we have raised money to deliver healthcare services to over 100 Kenyans.

Below are two patient stories from our newest clinic in Matopeni which opened in April.

- A young student attending Kayole North Primary school  was referred by the
school deputy teacher who identified her as a needy child. She fell ill while at school and her parents
could not be reached. The primary school is one of the major institution earmarked for outreach
activities in Matopeni by LiveWell clinics. She was diagnosed and treated for pnuemonia after receiving a livewell card.

- An elderly lady was brought to the clinic by her friend and relative who from their opinion could
not raise money for her treatment. She is a residence of Kayole spring valley. She was provided
a livewell card and her visit resulted in diagnosis and treatment for malaria.

As a result of the LiveWell Cards given to patients who visited our Matopeni Clinic in May some of the diagnosis and treatment included Septic rush, 3 cases of Malaria, URTI,Pheumonia,Soft tissue and Amoebiasis.

USAID SHOPS project update also posted increased patient visits and sales in our Matopeni clinic.  (please read attached USAID SHOPS Website update on our clinics.

In other news our company was featured on CNN International Marketplace where Liza Kimbo our President discussed our innovative health model and need for funding. (Please see attached Link)
