Dedicated to educating children & strengthening communities.
Citizen Schools operates 31 program sites in 7 states across the USA (MA, NY, NJ, NC, CA, TX & IL), engaging 5,000 middle school students & 4,000 volunteers each year. We mobilize a team to enable public middle schools in low-income communities to provide a longer learning day rich with opportunities. Our deep partnerships with schools put young adults on track to succeed by connecting the resources of communities, companies, governments, and philanthropies. Apprenticeships, which are the centerpiece of our strategy, allow students to work alongside real-world experts (volunteer "Citizen Teachers") to explore new disciplines & develop new skills.
