The Mobile School Screening team continued their mission, finding refractive errors in Schools going children. The schools of this province are closed due to summer vacations, whereas the religions seminaries are open during summer. This time Mobile School Screening team visited various religious seminaries, where small children are given religious training. Due to continues reciting of HOLY QURAN, the small children develop refractive error at a very early stage. Apart from this, Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital established free eye camps in following areas where eye care facilities are not available.

  • Swat                (Malakand Division)
  • Wat Paga
  • Out skirt of Peshawar
  • Village Chamkani
  • Nowshera
  • Village Pabbi

During the above camp the patients were given medicines and glasses free of cost. Stress was given to the children so that their refractive errors can be found at a very early stage and serious cases can be referred to hospital for further treatment.

During the visit to various schools / religious seminaries, the team screened 6435 children for refractive error, and issued spectacles to 394 students free of cost worth of $ 985 and medicines worth of $ 1545.

The project of Mobile School Screening is running very successfully. The project team really putting lot of effort to find out refractive errors in school going children. During free eye camps in out skirts of Peshawar i.e in villages / small towns. The stress was given to children and women. The teams effort to find out the refractive errors in a school going children at a very early stage, thus to protect them from early blindness is really appreciable and Allah will definitely reward them for this noble cause. The team of Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital established eye camp in following areas.

  • Malakand (Swat)
  • Wat Paga
  • Chamkani
  • Haripur
  • Mansehra
  • Nowshera
  • Swabi
  • Charsadda
  • Kohat
  • Mardan

 

The Mobile School Screening team established 3 days special camp in Islamabad for the orphans children came there from all over Pakistan. During the camp 540 children were screened for refractive error, and 88 children with various eye deceases were also given medicines free of cost.

 

During the period the Mobile School Screening Project team carried out teacher’s training of various schools and screened 9200 school going children and issued spectacles to 4100 students free of cost. The hospital also provided free medicines worth of $ 17150/- to poor patients. The team issued spectacles to 4100/- students free of cost worth of $ 1240.

The Mobile School Screening project team of this hospital continued their efforts to find out refractive errors among the school going children. The project team’s efforts to find out refractive errors at a very early stage is really appreciable. This time maximum schools were covered at the out skirts of Peshawar and specially the schools in small villages / towns. This hospital continued establishing free eye camps, so that eye care facilities are provided to the poor people at their door step. During free eye camps, special attention was given to women and children. The free eye camp team visited following villages / town.

  • Nowshera
  • Shah Dhand   (Peshawar)
  • Charsadda

 

The Mobile Schools Screening Project Team was very successful in teacher’s training of various schools and also screened 98001 schools going children and issued spectacles to 5218 students free of cost. During the period 208 students were referred to various hospitals for further treatment. This hospital team provided free medicines worth of 19250 US dollars to poor patients. The team issued spectacles to 5218 students free of cost, worth of 1445 US dollars. This Hospital also performed 925 cataract surgeries free of cost.
