Thank you for helping ShelterBox provide emergency tented shelter and supplies to families that have lost their homes and possessions following natural disasters or conflict, and allowing them to rebuild their lives with dignity and in safety.

ShelterBox continues to respond to natural disasters and conflict across the globe. Your support has helped ShelterBox deliver boxes and other emergency supplies to Syrian families that continue to flee to neighboring countries as a result of the ongoing conflict and violence in the country, as well as families impacted by the typhoon in the Philippines and the flooding in Paraguay and Niger.

Syrian Crisis

It’s been three years since conflict broke out in Syria. More than 9 million people have been forced from their homes in the war-torn country amidst violence and unremitting fighting. The majority now remain within the borders with no home to go to and no possessions. Over 2.7 million refugees, three quarters of them being women and children, still seek safety and shelter across neighboring countries.  ShelterBox has sent aid to support more than 5,000 families in Syria, Iraqi Kurdistan, Lebanon and Jordan in some truly challenging situations.

ShelterBox’s most recent provision of aid included 200 tents and 1,200 blankets to displaced Syrian families. ShelterBox has worked with partners to provide tents, shelter repair kits, mosquito nets, water filters and carriers, blankets, groundsheets, SchoolBoxes and solar lamps as the conflict has continued.

You can still help us shelter families fleeing from conflict.  Your continued support has provided hope, comfort and a sense of normalcy to those who would otherwise be living in fear - thank you.

Philippines

It has been over a year since the Philippines was hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan leaving thousands of people homeless. To date, ShelterBox has distributed aid to help more than 7,200 families in need of shelter and assistance. Residents have begun rebuilding their homes and communities.

Paraguay

In May and June of this year, torrential rains caused flooding in the southwestern region of Paraguay, including in and around the capital Asunción.  More than 200,000 people were affected across six different provinces, leaving 70,000 without homes.  ShelterBox was able to distribute 488 ShelterKits to families in need and are continuing to monitor and evaluate the response.

Niger

Heavy rains and subsequent flooding have affected the Niamey, Tillaberi and Dosso regions.  A shipment of 200 ShelterBoxes has now been distributed in country. Restock has been packed and is currently on its way by sea to the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot in Accra, one of our prepositioned storage locations.

Other areas of disaster or conflict

ShelterBox continues to respond, monitor and assess disasters and conflict in areas such as Mexico, Iraq and Colombia.  With your support, ShelterBox can continue to provide emergency shelter and aid to survivors of disasters and conflict throughout the world - thank you.

Philippines

It has been almost a year since the Philippines was hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan, with winds of 195 mph, leaving thousands of people homeless. To date, ShelterBox has distributed aid to help more than 7,000 families in need of shelter and assistance. Residents have begun rebuilding their homes and communities.

With your help, ShelterBox response teams continue to work in the country, identifying ongoing needs and assisting with the transition to the recovery phase.

Paraguay

In May and June of this year, torrential rains caused flooding in the southwestern region of Paraguay, including in and around the capital Asunción.  More than 200,000 people were affected across six different provinces, leaving 70,000 without homes in Asunción.  Many are sleeping in makeshift shelters. Similar scenes have also been witnessed in neighboring Brazil and Argentina. Although the rainstorms have subsided, the need for displaced families to be sheltered remains. The team is currently working with partner agencies that will assist in distributing aid.

Nepal

In August, 2014, communities along the Nepal-China border were submerged with rising floodwaters caused by the annual monsoon rains. It is estimated that as many as 19 districts experienced flooding, landslides were reported and fears of cholera have emerged.  ShelterBox response team volunteers are in the area assessing the need and providing assistance.

Other areas of disaster or conflict

ShelterBox continues to monitor and assess disasters and conflict in areas such as the Central Africa Republic, Niger, the Ukraine and Gaza and Israel to determine need as well as ShelterBox’s ability to assist.  With your support, ShelterBox can continue to provide emergency shelter and aid to survivors of disasters and conflict throughout the world - thank you.

Thank you for helping ShelterBox provide emergency tented shelter and supplies to families that have lost their homes and possessions following natural disasters and conflict around the world, and allowing them to rebuild their lives with dignity and in safety.

ShelterBox continues to respond to natural disasters and conflict across the globe. Your support has helped ShelterBox deliver boxes and other emergency supplies to Syrian families that continue to flee to neighboring countries as a result of the ongoing conflict and violence in the country, as well as families impacted by the typhoon in the Philippines and the flooding in Serbia and Bosnia.

Syrian Crisis

It’s been three years since the conflict broke out in Syria. Over 9 million people have been forced from their homes in the war-torn country having been exposed to violence and unremitting fighting. The majority now remains within the borders with no home to go to and no possessions. Over 2.7 million refugees, three quarters of them being women and children, still seek safety and shelter across neighboring countries.

The vast majority of fleeing families arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs. Many are injured from continuous bombing and shelling. They have no regular food and no income. Men, women and children are suffering through no fault of their own. They are in desperate need of shelter and other vital supplies. ShelterBox has sent aid to support over 5,000 families in Syria, Iraqi Kurdistan, Lebanon and Jordan in some truly challenging situations.

In Syria we are working with aid agencies who are acting as our partners, delivering essential aid to families fleeing conflict, including emergency shelter, blankets, water filtration equipment and carriers, cooking utensils, mosquito nets and children’s activity packs. ShelterBox continues to work with multiple implementing partners across various hubs to deliver much needed emergency shelter to vulnerable families in need.

Your support has provided hope, comfort and a sense of normalcy to those who would otherwise be living in fear - thank you.

Philippines

In November 2013, the Philippines was hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan, with winds of 195mph, leaving thousands of people homeless. To date, ShelterBox has distributed shelter to help over 7,000 families in need of shelter and assistance. Residents have begun rebuilding their homes and communities. Even businesses have reopened using ShelterBox toolkits sourced from prepositioned stock nearby.

With your help, ShelterBox response teams continue to work in the country, identifying ongoing needs and assisting with the transition to the recovery phase.

Serbia and Bosnia

Both areas were overwhelmed with unprecedented torrential rain that caused widespread flooding, forcing thousands of people from their homes.  ShelterBox has sent tents, water filters and carriers, blankets, groundsheets and solar lamps. Mosquito nets have been provided in Serbia and Bosnia to help protect families against the threat of waterborne diseases.

ShelterBox continues to work with local entities, including Rotary clubs, to deliver this vital aid to the families that need it most.

Your support provides shelter and supplies that allow these disasters the realization of shelter, warmth and dignity, thank you.

Bolivia

In February, heavy rains caused slow onset flooding across the center and northern parts of the land-locked Latin American country. Thousands of families in the area had no choice but to uproot and leave their homes and belongings behind in search of other shelter. ShelterBox, working with Rotary and Oxfam, delivered emergency shelter and vital supplies to families forced from their homes due to widespread flooding.

Thanks to supporters like you, hundreds of families in Bolivia now have the shelter and protection needed to assist them in rebuilding and moving towards the future.

Zimbabwe

Flash flooding in early 2014 forced thousands of families in Zimbabwe’s Masvingo province from their homes.  Many left with only the possessions they carried.  ShelterBox, working with various partners, provided emergency shelter to the victims of the flooding.

With your support, these families now have shelter and can begin to rebuild their communities.

Other areas of disaster or conflict

ShelterBox continues to monitor and assess disasters and conflict in areas such as Paraguay, Myanmar and the Central Africa Republic to determine need as well as ShelterBox’s ability to assist.  With your support, ShelterBox can continue to provide emergency shelter and aid to survivors of disasters and conflict throughout the world, thank you.
