Programs

Uniendo Metas bases its methodology on that of the Model United Nations Program to create socially conscious young leaders. The program promotes leadership and active citizenship among Argentine youth to nurture personal growth and strengthen the continuation of democracy and social inclusiveness of Argentine institutions. By encouraging students to consider and debate current international issues, Uniendo Metas works to promote dialogue and teach tolerance and awareness of different cultures. TATETI (Todos los Derechos para ti) was founded in 2001 as part of the Pronino (Pro-Child) network, which advocates for the continuation of formal education with the ultimate goal of eradicating child labor. The program works comprehensively with children, families, schools and communities through various outreach programs in urban and semi-urban areas. Each TATETI office houses an interdisciplinary team that works with the child to promote personal health, recreation, personal development and help with schoolwork. Conbeca works to reintroduce youth into the academic system and encourage them to become successful in their academic careers. The program provides students with necessary school materials as well as tutoring to support them academically. Conbeca also works with participating students' parents to develop healthy habits that will contribute to and encourage their children's success La Justicia Va a la Escuela (Justice Goes to School) aspires to educate Argentine youth regarding the duties and responsibilities of the judiciary system. The program was developed as a joint initiative on behalf of Asociacion de Magistrados (Judges Association) and Asociacion Conciencia due to a general lack of awareness and confidence in the Argentine judiciary branch. Somos Capaces (We Are Capable) works to increase the employability of young adults, providing them with the necessary tools to join and ultimately thrive in the workforce. By working with participants between the ages of 18 and 24, Somos Capaces hopes to mitigate the social exclusion, decrease in wages and marginalization of the work force facing young adults today. Porvenir is a program launched in 2004 that works with the support of 370 tobacco producers to eradicate child labor in the tobacco producing provinces of Jujuy and Salta. The program keeps children out of the workforce by providing daily educational, artistic and recreational activities that reinforce diverse themes such as individual rights, citizenship, school attendance, self-esteem, responsible decision-making, and personal health.
