Karmirhath Hospital located at North-West Corner of Bangladesh has been serving the people of Gaibandha district since 1986. The main fields of the hospital are The Eye Care Section, the Diabetc Care Section, The Pre-Natal Care Section of the Pregnant Mothers, Children Care Section and Dental Care Section.
During the last three months, 1200 Diabetic patients have been treated at our hospital.
Fuli(not her real name) is married for 20 years. She has three children – two daughters and a son. She developed Diabetes six years ago. But she could not arrange treatment as she is poor and her husband being a small grocer himself a poor. So, she remained without treatment. Consequently, she suffered and became weak day by day. About two months ago, a social worker brought her to our Karmirhath Hospital and got Fuli registered with Diabetic section. She was examined by a paramedic, regular routine tests were done, Diabetis Guide Book was given and her treatment started. She started attending hospital every Friday. She was given Insulin regularly. After about two months' treatment, her diabetes become stabilised. She was asked to attend hospital once in a month.
Fuli's treatment has stabilized her diabetes and she is now leading almost a normal life. This has been possible due to generous help of donors through GlobalGiving.

Cataract operations are going on smoothly at our Karmirhath Hospital. Thanks to our overseas donors who donated through GlobalGiving Foundations. 1126 eye patients received treatments during the last two months. 59 patients went through Cataract operations and got back their eye sights.
Fulmot is 36 years old. She is married and has 3 children. She works in an Ice cream factory as a day labour. Her husband is also a day labor and works as agriculture labor. Fulmoti was detected to have developed cataract in her eyes in an Eye Camp about five years ago. She was brought to Karmirhath Eye Hospital and admitted for cataract operations. After thorough examinations and tests, operations were conducted on both eyes Seven days apart, free of costs. With eye sights restored, Fulmoti went home, resumed her work as a day labor in Ice Cream Factory. She was very thankful to Karmirhath Hospital and to those donors who helped the hospital with fund and to those who provided fund for her treatment.

KARMIRHATH HOSPITAL, GAIBANDHA “HELP TREAT 1200 POOR BANGLADESHI DIABETICS”. PROJECT REPORT February, 2015 A total of 354 patients attended our hospital during the last two months; among them 6 were new patients. Necessary tests were conducted, Guide Books given and Diabetes Awareness lessons were also given to the new patients. Insulin as well as other medicines were given free to poor Chronic Patients. Case Study: 1. Asea:(Not her real name) Asea aged 45 years, lives in Shapla para in Sadar Upo zilla, about 4 km away from Karmirhath Hospital. Her husband is a poor agriculture labor They two kids. The kids are all school-going. The eldest kid, a girl, is a third grader. The other kid, also a girl, is a student of First Grade. Asea developed diabetes a few years ago. Her husband, a day labor could not manage any treatment for her illness. A few months ago she learnt that Karmirhath hospital gives free treatment to poor diabetic patients. When Asea reached Karmirhath hospital, after a few tests, she was registered as a regular diabetic patient, given Guide Book and awareness instructions. She is now a regular visitor and her diabetes is now stabilized. She thanks Karmirhath and those who helps Karmirhath with funds. 2. Moinul (Not his real name) Moinul aged 45 years lives at Ballamjhar village about five kilometers from Karmirhath Hospital. He is a day labor. Although, Moinul developed diabetes few years ago, he could not get any treatment due to his poverty and due to his lack of knowledge that there are are facilities where diseases like diabetes, tuberculosis, etc. are treated free. However, a good-hearted person brought Moinul at Karmirhath hospital. At the Karmirhath hospital, he was registered as a regular diabetes patient. His diabetes has now stabilized. He is grateful to the people who fund Karmirhath. I personally thank Global Giving Foundation for raising funds for Karmirhath.
