Bitone Updates November 2012

Dear friend,

APPRECIATION

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the support you have rendered to our project both monetary and technical since we joined GlobalGiving family. Thank you so much for being there we needed you. It is no doubt that your generosity has kept us going and aided us in achieving the many successes we have enjoyed through the GlobalGiving partnership. We are deeply appreciative of the role you have played, and in supporting our children grow productively and impact others’ lives through sharing their stories, talents, and smiles. We are glad that you are part of the reason for these achievements.

Our efforts are continually inspired by everyday success stories of our current 20 children. The Bitone’s holistic approach which unlocks the potential of this generation by providing tools for success in life, creating confident, skillful, visionary leaders re-affirms that children can take charge of their lives if given an opportunity. Values of trustworthiness, sincerity, tolerance, empathy and interpersonal intelligence continue to grow in each child every day.

Located in Lugoba Village Kawempe Division in Kampala District, Bitone Children's Center has established itself as a home for rebuilding voices of hope. By educating community members through our regular music and dance trainings and performances in our local village and across the country, we help raise awareness of children’s vulnerabilities and their rights.

As you are aware, all the funds you donated have been used towards educational costs (school fees, uniforms, and scholastic materials), rental fees, feeding costs, medical expenses and other home related needs.

Currently, the Bitone team would like to announce that we have ended our partnership with GlobalGiving. The board and staff meeting made a resolution this month to stop our project from receiving donations at GlobalGiving due to a change in the organization’s needs and new strategies. It has been a pleasure working with GlobalGiving through which we have had an opportunity to know you and share our story of the disadvantaged Uganda children.

Since we joined GlobalGiving family, Bitone has been able to raise a total of $21,437 donations out of the planned $45,563.  Ultimately, these funds have helped 25 children access education, healthcare and safe place to call home.  With the same donation, we have been able to empower various local communities using the Uganda traditional music and dance and poetry activities. Thank you so much for your kind heart.

For Bitone Center, an international non-profit and community-based organization in Uganda, this means that we have a potential to transform lives as we make a difference in the world. We encourage and invite you to visit our website: http://bitonechildren.org/bitone/ for our next program activities and strategies. Here at Bitone Center, together we say “THANK YOU, and THANK YOU”. You will always be part of our life.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Bitone Updates: SEPTEMBER 2012

SALUTATIONS:
Hello there!

Welcome to this month’s edition of news and updates from Bitone Children's Center. It is our hope that you have had a great time since we last communicated with you. We are sending you warm and heartfelt greetings from Bitone children, staff and community friends. And we wish you the most refreshing spring 2012.

APPRECIATION
We deeply want to thank you so much for your moral, technical and financial support you offer to Bitone Children’s Center through GlobalGiving. It is no doubt that your generosity has kept us going especially at this time as we continue to experience economic crisis.

Many thanks go to all of you that supported us during the recently concluded Global Giving Bonus Day. As you are aware, all the funds your donated on the bonus day will go directly to clear educational related needs (school fees, uniforms, school shoes) for our children for this current  academic term/semester.

BITONE TROUPE:

The troupe’s vision is that by providing artistic training in music and dance, our children’s lives can again become meaningful and productive. We aim at providing the next generation of Ugandans to fully participate and assume leadership roles in their communities

Our efforts in elevating Bitone children’s skills in music and dance practices have continued to yield excellent results. There is no doubt that values of self-esteem, confidence and trustworthiness continue to grow in each child everyday. Through their practices and performances, children lay a solid foundation to their future as they both physically, emotionally and intellectually grow–creating greater horizons and assurance for their future.

How To Get Involved?

You may get involved and make a difference in the lives of our children by either directly sponsoring a child’s education (fees + scholastic) or by supporting Bitone Children's Center’s Rental fees, Children’s Feeding, Children’s Medical Welfare or Bitone Troupe’s needs (sound equipment and Transport/vehicle).

Bitone is still facing challenges to purchase enough food for its children due to the rising food costs. Every day, Bitone spends about $1.00 on every child’s feeding.

Once again, thank you so much for taking time to read our monthly updates and as always, we look forward to hearing from you.
