Self Reliance Promoters' NGO

SEREP is a non-profit, non-governmental organization situated in Kumbo, Bui Division, North West Region of Cameroon. The area is ranked as amongst the least developed nationally, with limited infrastructure, high birth rate, high unemployment, as well as a high level of HIV/AIDS transmission and widespread poverty. This distressing situation prompted the formation of SEREP in 1997 with an aim of addressing the social problems caused by such and to Serve the underprivileged ones without boundaries. PROGRESS REPORT OF THE WOMEN PALM OIL PROJECT

Firstly we want to thank the four donors of this project.  The 21 USD that was disbursed to this project has supported another group to have 20 Ltrs of Palm oil.   Because we are still struggling to raise funds locally and on Global giving, we are handling a few groups for now .    We are getting on with the current groups and as reported last time with the assistance of the local traders who by trust give oil to the groups guaranteed b the NGO.

We sincere thank  the donors of this project and hope that as funds are being raised we shall one day have adequate capital for this project which will surely have a good recycling atmosphere.

We are expecting to receive some volunteers in future and hopefully, one will be assigned to work on this project and equally to see how funds can be raised through GlobalGiving or from any other source.

It is our pleasure to report on the progressive nature of the Project Provide Education for 100 Orphans in Cameroon.

We were caught up by the dry season after moving a giant step with the last disbursement.

We were able to make the form work, buy some iron rods, paid the technicians to work on the Decking work.

We continue to receive Volunteers who are grateful to see where your support is going and actually what it is used for.

Below are the most recent Volunteers from UK who really appreciate the work with the Children in the rented apartment.

Rains have come again and hopefully we are soon to resume the decking work again.

However, we still need some support to enable us get on with the work and to eventually complete the first phase of the project.   We are really very grateful to all our donors and wish them all the blessings.

Great thanks for all who have been supporting this project just to see that they have a good learning environment. the project is progressing seriously as the community is not only relying on the global giving but they are also struggling to do some local fund raising.

This can be seen from the pictures below. We have been able to complete the roofing that was half way done during the visit of the Global giving team and again with the last disbursement, the made up and acquired a 20ton tipper of Sand. I got the snap shots of the children and the sand. the project has increase the intake because they have hope for a better learning environment.

We thank all of you and those still to support. The children look better in the photos than you can see them physically. They really need help in the area of good classes.
