To educate, inspire and motivate children through music education by providing public elementary schools with a free, innovative and turnkey supplemental music program
What is Music Workshop?
Music Workshop is a non-profit organization which provides a free music education program to public elementary schools. Participating schools will receive 8 monthly episodes per year teaching music history, music appreciation as well as reinforcing the ways students can use music in their everyday lives to improve themselves (academically, artistically, athletically and behaviorally). Each episode is presented on DVD, with A volunteer, instructional assistant or teacher, the "music maestro" conducting a question and answer session during breaks. Beginning in February, Music Workshop will work with 12 local elementary schools (approx. 5000 students in Oregon) to preview 4 episodes.
Music Workshop will implement a complete series with 100-150 regional schools starting Fall of 2013.
