An Artist's Wish

Dreams continue to come true at Cedar Village. Many of our residents have very special wishes. Sylvia loves to paint and draw. She participates in special art therapy classes at Cedar Village and is very talented. Her wish was to have art supplies to keep in her room that she could use to create beautiful masterpieces. She requested an easel, brushes, paints, and through our Chai Hopes program, her wish was granted. Painting is very therapeutic to Sylvia and she is now able to paint whenever she has a creative urge. Her pictures are truly magical. Your donation will help purchase art supplies for residents like Sylvia to help continue making dreams come true.

Spring Projects for our Special Volunteers

Our Cedar Village residents continue to make a difference throughout the greater Cincinnati community. Recently, they assembled 200 snack bags for St. Vincent de Paul clients. In early April, they will be making lunch to take to the local Ronald McDonald House to serve to the families who are staying there while their children are patients at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. This has become an annual event and the Cedar Village residents always enjoy visiting with the children and their families and making their lives a little better.

Your donation will help cover some of the costs of the supplies for these special spring projects.

Making Music Enriches Lives

Cedar Village residents’ lives are enriched every day. The Cedar Village Bell Choir under the direction of music therapist, Jude Jones, is a remarkable group of individuals. In December, they performed along with the Cedar Village choir in a holiday concert. As Jude points to each group of bell ringers, they proudly ring their bells and make beautiful music together. For this year’s concert, they each wore specially created Cedar Village blue Thanksgivukkah shirts. Some of the performers may suffer from dementia and may not be able to communicate verbally, but they can communicate through music. Your donation will help sustain this vital program.
