A Baseball Dream Comes True

Dreams continue to come true at Cedar Village. Many of our residents have very special wishes. One of our residents, Tom, wanted to attend a Cincinnati Reds game with his friends and family. The game was arranged for Tom and nine guests to attend the Reds game together. On the day of the game, Tom gathered with his friends wearing a Reds shirt and baseball cap. The group cheered on the Reds to victory and fun was had by all. “It reminded me of the times when I was younger and was able to see a game with my dad and brother. I will never forget this.”

Your donation will help create special experiences for residents to enjoy special time with their friends and loved ones. We will be able to help continue making dreams come true.

Spring Semester is Celebrated

The OMA (Opening Minds Through Art) artists and volunteers just finished their 11th semester of work. Participants shared their art work with their family members at the artist reception which is a highlight of the program for the artists. The artists are so proud of the work they have done during the program. One artist said, “It puts a good feeling in my heart.”

Volunteers also enjoy the program. “Every time I leave after meeting up with my partner, I feel so lucky to be a small part of his life and hopefully make his day a little better.”

Your donation helps provide supplies for the amazing Cedar Village artists with dementia. The program truly represents Cedar Village’s mission: that aging will be an enriching and fulfilling experience.

Ronald McDonald House Outing

Preparing lunch
Preparing lunch

The Cedar Village residents enjoy volunteering and giving back to their community. A favorite place to volunteer is the local Ronald McDonald House at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The day before the excursion, the residents lovingly made turkey and vegetable wraps to serve to the patients’ families. On the day of the visit, residents proudly wore their matching purple shirts, boarded the Cedar Village bus and brought lunch and smiles to the children, their parents, and grandparents. The volunteers served lunch, visited with the families, shared stories and bonded as they always do. At Cedar Village we believe that “age is just a number.”

Your donation will help purchase supplies and gifts for the children and their families.
