Lynn Sage Foundation

The Lynn Sage Foundation was founded in honor and memory of Lynn Sage, a beloved mother, daughter, wife and native Chicagoan who tragically died at the age of 39 as a result of her battle with breast cancer. The family of Lynn Sage has been raising money for breast cancer research since soon after Lynn's death in 1984. The foundation is dedicated finding a cure for breast cancer in Lynn's honor.

The Lynn Sage Foundation Summer 2014 Update

Hi Everyone,

We hope everyone is having a relaxing and fun summer so far!

We had a successful and busy start to our summer with many events surrounding Mother’s Day. Our With Mom 4 Mom fitness events boasted a variety of workouts to raise money for our cause, including crossfit, yoga, pilates, barre, spinning, and much more! We had such a great response to the Mother’s Day fitness classes that we decided to continue the campaign by holding one class per month for the rest of the year. Please save the date for our upcoming fitness classes on August 27 at Rock Solid Fitness and September 13 at Pure Barre River North. Details can be found on our website.

On Friday, May 16, The Lynn Sage Foundation Associate Board hosted their second annual Summer Toast at The Underground. Over 200 young professionals came out for the event which featured a Summer Toast specialty cocktail, appetizers, raffle items, and resident DJ’s. The event raised over $17,000 for local breast cancer researchers!

As summer starts to wind down, we are busy preparing for our Seventh Annual Chicago’s In Good Taste this October! We already have over 60 restaurants committed to raising funds for The Lynn Sage Foundation by promoting special food and drink items throughout the month. If you are interested in learning more about our signature initiative, please visit our campaign page. We are always looking for new restaurant, retail, spa, and corporate partners.

We are also getting ready for CHILL: An International Culinary and Wine Event, which will take place at the Merchandise Mart on November 13. Tickets are already on sale and if purchased early, will also get you access to an exclusive wine tasting event at Disotto Enoteca on September 17 from 5-8pm. Tickets may be purchased by clicking here, and please don’t forget to specify The Lynn Sage Foundation as your charity of choice.

Dr. Jain, our current Lynn Sage Scholar, is continuing her clinical trial that investigates immunotherapy as a complimentary approach for eliminating breast cancer and we will continue to work tirelessly to raise the funds necessary to fund her work. Please click here to read more about Dr. Jain’s experience and research.

Please remember to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and sign up for our monthly newsletter to stay up to date on our events and ways you can get involved.

Thank you for your generous support in the fight against breast cancer. Together we can find a cure.

Best wishes,

Laura & Halee Sage

The Lynn Sage Foundation Winter 2014 Report

2014 is off to a great start for the Lynn Sage Foundation as we have finished wrapping up our incredibly successful 2013 and look forward to another busy year. We anticipate an exciting year ahead, and are looking forward to new and established initiatives that will help us continue to raise much needed funds for breast cancer research in Chicago.

Donations have been pouring in from our amazing Chicago's In Good Taste partners and almost all have been received. We are overwhelmed by the generosity and hard work that our partners continue to put in each year as they spend all of October collecting donations for our cause!

This spring, we are preparing for several exciting events and new initiatives! On February 27, Neiman Marcus will host a special Donna Karan New York event with proceeds to benefit The Lynn Sage Foundation. This is the second year this event has been held and promises to be an exciting evening filled with new friends and great fashion.

With hopes of an early spring and Mother’s Day in mind, we are busy planning our inaugural Mother’s Day Fitness event which will take place in the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day on May 11. We are asking local fitness studios to hold classes that will benefit The Lynn Sage Foundation, with a focus on family and healthy lifestyle.

Our annual Mother’s Day Cards for a Cure Campaign will also begin in the spring. We will once again offer beautifully designed digital Mother’s Day cards with all proceeds going to breast cancer research. As this special day gets closer be sure to check out our website to send a beautiful, inspiring, and impactful card to all the special Mothers in your life.

Our current Lynn Sage Scholar, Dr. Sarika Jain, is hard at work conducting a clinical trial that is using the immune system to fight metastatic breast cancer in patients. For more information on the work Dr. Jain is doing and how you can support her, please visit our website.

As always, thank you for your support and generosity!
