Mission

We are a registered charity providing holidays and practical support to seriously ill children and their families. The children and adolescents we support battle with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Our Mission Statement From one little boy's special wish great things have come. Sebastian's Action Trust provides respite breaks to very sick children and their families, enabling precious time to be spent together. We have created in the first purpose built facility in the UK to provide breaks. Our holiday house, called The Bluebells, in the pretty Hampshire village of North Waltham opened in July 2011. Nothing like this currently exists in the UK, making The Bluebells the first of its kind and Sebastian's vision all the more exceptional. We also give practical support in many different forms to children battling with life-limiting illnesses and provide meaningful assistance at critical times to families exhausted by the stresses of hospital life and their child's gruelling treatment. The Trust does not have a restrictive geographical catchment area and already supports families in the South East, however, we do welcome families from anywhere in the UK. At Sebastian's Action Trust we care about making life a little easier for these children and young people. With your help we can continue to give support where and when it is needed.

Programs

We run The Bluebells, our purpose built holiday house to offer respite breaks to families with children who have life-threatenting or life-limiting conditions. We also host day visits so local families we are working with can use the facilities such as the Hydro-Therapy Pool, Music Room, Sensory Room and Art Room. We also provide practical support Sibling Activity Days: Giving time with others who understand the isolation that may come from a change in family circumstances. Well-Being Therapies: for parents and primary carers helping to alleviate the stresses of coping with their child's condition. Music, Art and Drama Therapy sessions for seriously-ill children giving a chance to offload the relentless stresses of living with a life-limiting condition. We also provide: Hospital/Hospice Transport Beareavement Care through our support group Reflections Psycho-social Support
