Our travelers, Abby Beissinger, Georgette Condos, Alisha David, Anna Koel, Karla Lund, Elise Mann, and Dashni Sathasivam, arrived safe and sound on Lingira Island yesterday afternoon, and are already getting started on their projects!

Attached, please find the latest EDGE Project Annual Report. The report outlines our accomplishments last summer, work over the course of the academic year, and upcoming projects. We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months!

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Thank you!

Dear Friends and Family,

Spring is in the air and EDGE is coming alive with even more passion, drive and commitment. The continued success of the EDGE project would not be possible without each and every one of you and your continual support! Over the past couple of months, EDGE as been working hard to move forward as an organization and YOU inspire us to continue our projects with added enthusiasm and dedication.

There are fresh new faces getting ready to lead EDGE next fall! We are currently electing new board members that will carry on our passion and inspire others to do the same. Be sure to follow us on our blog and our monthly newsletter, The EDGEside, to see what these new EDGEsters will bring to our projects!

This semester, students are hard at work, researching and designing projects to be implemented by the next group of student travelers in the summer of 2010. With the knowledge gained from our previous trip last summer, student researchers now have a better idea of community needs and sustainable ways to effectively address them.

You can read more about these projects as well as our projects implemented this past summer on our blog at www.wisconsinedgeproject.blogspot.com

Again, thank you for your continued support and generous donations. You give us hope that we are making a difference and inspire us to keep doing what we do!

Sincerely, The EDGE Project Team

Hello again! and THANK YOU!

Dear Friends and Family,

A lot has happened with EDGE over the past several months and we would once again like to thank each and every one of you for your continual support! We all genuinely appreciate it and know that without you, none of the success we had this past summer could have been possible.

The eleven EDGE members who traveled to Lingira Island, Uganda this past summer each had an unforgettable experience and were able to implement some amazing projects during their 5 week stay. Some of the projects include: -donation of a grain mill to the secondary school -Farmer’s Association -Family Planning Association -Global Studies curriculum -Community Organizing workshops -Girl’s soccer team

Back in Madison, students are back to work, researching and developing new projects to be implemented by the next group of students in the summer of 2010. This year, with students who have been to the island already and have a better idea of the conditions in the community, the projects are looking to be even more effective. The new bunch of passionate and driven EDGEsters are all very excited for the next trip to Uganda!

You can read more about the projects implemented this past summer as well as what is going on with the projects this semester on our blog at www.wisconsinedgeproject.blogspot.com

A couple of weeks ago, on November 11, EDGE Project held its First Annual Banquet. It was a lot of fun and a huge success! We are so thankful to all of you who were able to attend, and make sure to look out for EDGE Project’s Banquet next year!

Thank you all so much once again for all of the support you continue to give us, it is truly inspiring. Without your generous donations, our work would never be able to reach the amazing people of Lingira Island who TRULY deserve it.

We will keep you posted on our progress, and make sure to follow us on our blog and new monthly newsletter, The EDGEside!

Sincerely, The EDGE Project Team
