Preparing for Winter

Hello Las Lomas supporters!

Thank you all for your continued support of our rescue animals!  With your help, we have been able to start gearing up for Winter.  We have been able to buy 4 dog houses which were much needed for the cold weather coming.  We have also been stocking up on hay which we use to cover the concrete and stuff inside the dog houses to keep the dogs warm and comfortable.  They love the hay too!  They enjoy rolling around in it but more importantly it keeps their feet from getting cold and provides insulation for them.  We have to change the hay out a couple times a week so we will be needing more but we are off to a good start.

All the dogs send their love and appreciation to all of you who have helped them and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!  We couldn't do this without you and together we are making a difference in the lives of these rescued animals.  Stay tuned for more updates!

Jill, a precious little dog who has been saved!

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!

I am excited to give you the news about Jill!  She came to us as an owner surrender when she fell off the porch and broke both of the bones in her leg.  Her owners couldn't afford the surgery to have it fixed and they were advised to have her put to sleep.  With the help of generous and caring supporters like you, we were able to have her leg fixed!  She was healing nicely when she chewed off a couple of her toes and then had to have surgery to repair them as well.  It was a long haul for Jill but she has now been released from the vet and is continuing to thrive.  It will take a couple of months for her leg to strenghten but she is well on the road to living a normal life!  Jill is such a sweet and loving little girl and I am so pleased we have been able to help her on this long journey.  She has had her vaccinations as well and is on monthly heartworm prevention.  Soon, she will be spayed.  I can't thank each of you enough for all of your support!  Without you, this couldn't be possible.  You are all so amazing and Jill sends her love and kisses!

With your continued support, we can help even more dogs, and what a good feeling it is! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Lizzy sends her love and appreciation!

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!

Thanks to you and your help, we were able to save Lizzy, a precious yellow lab mix female, from the Floresville K9 holding facility just moments before she was scheduled to be killed!  She is heartworm positive, has ear mites, hook worms, and round worms.  Treatment to save her life is fairly expensive and because of your generosity we were able to get her started so that she can live a happy and healthy life!  Lizzy is a wonderful dog who absolutely loves the water, is great with other dogs, and very sweet to people.  It is very difficult to clean her run because as soon as she sees the water, she gets ready and starts attacking it!  She will run, jump, twist and turn, sometimes it looks like she can even jump rope!  All to play in the water hose!  I get a kick out of watching her!  It's great seeing her so happy and knowing we were able to save her life...all because of wonderful people like you.

We have posted a video which you can see on our facebook page and there is also one on our website

Lizzy will be spayed as soon as her heartworms are treated and she will be available for adoption in a few months.

Love and hugs from Lizzy!   Thank you so much for all of your support!
