11 million lives are at risk due to the worst drought to hit the Horn of Africa in 60 years. Relief International's team is providing food and nutritional supplements to needy families and malnourished children.
The Horn of Africa (east Africa, namely Somalia) is suffering from the worst drought in 60 years. 11 Million people are at risk of dying; families are struggling to find food, and millions are at risk of dying from malnutrition
RI has already screened 25,000 children for malnutrition and has treated close to 2,000 children through outpatient therapeutic feeding programs. RI has also started long-lasting projects, like rain water collection and well drilling to prevent the recurrence of famine in the future
By feeding the malnourished and providing families with nutritional supplements, Relief International is saving the lives of those who have been most impacted by the environmental disaster in the Horn of Africa. Thousands of lives will be saved, and new water-saving techniques will be developed for the future.
