Education through sport is one of the best ways to bring about social change within the society. FIN has for the past 6 years been involved supporting women and girls to improve their livelihoods.
Fighting the challenges of food Insecurity, HIV/AIDS, un-wanted pregnancies and unemployment among women and girls requires a holistic way in dealing with the problem in rural setup in Zimbabwe. Family-In-Need Trust of Zimbabwe uses sport as an empowerment tool in fighting the above problems women face and in helping then realize their potential. The uses of sport as an empowerment tool has proved to be very effective as sport is widely accepted with the African cultural contexts and communities
The project will provide livelihoods and food security support using sport as a social change agent within the rural communities. The mainstreaming of sporting ill help in bring women and girls together to fight problems they face
This project will create a systematic change towards improving 500 women’s welfare through vibrant and sustainable social structures and improve livelihoods and fighting food insecurity thus reducing poverty levels among rural women.
