It’s hard to grasp the heartbreaking consequences of the conflict in Syria. For many, it feels a million miles away. But this statistic hits close to home: the number of child refugees fleeing the conflict in Syria has now topped the 1 million mark. That means as many Syrian children have been uprooted from their homes or families as the number of children who live in Boston and Los Angeles combined.
But they are not alone.

They’re supplying essentials like clean water and warm clothing, offering emotional support to mothers and fathers, and building safe spaces where kids can play and simply be kids.
