Cyclone Pam, one of the most powerful storms ever to make landfall, has caused significant damage in Vanuatu, an island nation of over 200,000 in the South Pacific. At least 8 people have been killed by the storm, and thousands have been displaced. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but aid groups are mobilizing to provide support and emergency supplies to the people impacted by the storm.

The projects listed below are providing emergency supplies and support to Vanuatu. All have been thoroughly vetted and will provide you with ongoing updates about the impact of your donation.

Emergency Aid for Vanuatu After Cyclone Pam
by IsraAID
This project will enable IsraAID to continue to distribute basic food and supplies to remote islands in Vanuatu, essentially saving the lives of thousands who have no access to food or clean water. The project will also include Psycho-Social Services (PSS) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programming to help populations cope, as well as potentially Medical Teams to mitigate health concerns resulting from the disaster project reportread updates from the field

Vanuatu Communities Support - Cyclone Pam
On Friday, March 13 2015, Cyclone Pam seriously affected Vanuatu with especially the central and south parts of the archipelago leaving thousands of people without home and resources. 80% of the rural communities live on the subsistence agriculture and in the coming weeks the situation will become more dramatic with a shortage of food. We need some support to be able to assist the communities surrounding our centre in Port Vila and our members from the islands. project reportread updates from the field
