The America for Bulgaria Foundation (ABF) is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonpolitical American philanthropic foundation working in partnership with Bulgarians to strengthen the country’s private sector and democratic institutions. Since its founding in 2009, the Foundation has donated over $200 million in more than 800 projects in education, cultural heritage, arts and culture, civil society and democratic institutions, economically disadvantaged communities, and private sector development.
In 2018, the America for Bulgaria Foundation teamed up with GlobalGiving to help Bulgarian nonprofits expand their reach and learn how to take advantage of digital fundraising opportunities. All nonprofits listed on the Foundation’s GlobalGiving page are former or current grantees and have successfully completed GlobalGiving’s training in crowdfunding and digital fundraising. Moreover, through their years of hard work and results-oriented approach, these organizations have made a real difference in their areas of activity, building local credibility and earning ABF’s respect and admiration.
