As the Founder & CEO of GuideStar India, Pushpa set up GuideStar India in 2009, to systematically organise information of India’s vast and complex voluntary sector in a globally trusted and user-friendly portal. She draws on her vast experience in the financial services industry to make the portal easy for NGOs to self-report and add great value for users through verification and due-diligence. Pushpa’s approach to NGOs and the philanthropic community is influenced by her long association with GiveIndia. She loves to create reporting tools and frameworks that capture verifiable facts and inspiring stories. Deepa Sapatnekar, Head, Corporate Communications (India and Hong Kong), LinkedIn
As the Head of Corporate Communications (India and Hong Kong) for LinkedIn, Deepa Sapatnekar is tasked with building the brand in India and Hong Kong, through a sustained media and stakeholder engagement program across print, television and the online space. Beyond this, she also conducts an ongoing LinkedIn familiarization program for journalists and oversees LinkedIn India’s Twitter program, which is aimed at educating consumers.
Deepa’s professional career expanses over a decade with experience across fashion, shipping, and IT industries before joining LinkedIn India. Priyanka Singh, Chief Executive, Seva Mandir
Priyanka Singh is the Chief Executive of Seva Mandir from 1st April 2011. She is responsible for leading a team of almost 300 colleagues. Seva Mandir’s work extends to over 600 villages and the annual budget is close to 16 crores. Apart from raising the money, she is responsible for the overall effectiveness of and coherence within Seva Mandir programs, and for representing Seva Mandir at various external forums.
She has worked in Seva Mandir for 17 years and before becoming the Chief Executive, headed its Education and Health Program and one of the geographical locations. In both the program areas, she was closely involved with several pioneering research studies conducted in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In addition to her responsibilities within Seva Mandir, Priyanka has undertaken evaluations of other organizations and participated in external studies and reviews.
She is also a member of the following boards: Board Member of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA); Governing Board Member of ARAVALI, a State level NGO set up by the Government to promote collaboration between the government and the voluntary sector; Governing Board Member of Rejuvenate India Movement (RIM), a multi-State collaborative initiative of several NGOs to encourage voluntarism in the country; Working Committee Member of VANI (Voluntary Action Network of India).
Vishal Talreja, Co-founder & CEO, Dream a Dream
Vishal co-founded Dream A Dream (www.dreamadream.org) along with 11 others. Dream A Dream is an 15-year old professional organization that impacts the lives of 50,000 young people through the active support of over 2000 volunteers. Dream A Dream is acknowledged as an innovator in life Skills development amongst young people from urban slum communities, creating innovative ways for community volunteering and setting very high-standards of transparency, accountability and impact.
Vishal believes that if we can re-imagine education to develop empathy, creative thinking, problem solving and collaborative working skills amongst children, and at the same time create spaces for engagement, dialogue and understanding amongst diverse communities through volunteering we will be able to create a world that truly appreciates unique differences. Vishal is also deeply committed to mentoring start-up NGOs and young social entrepreneurs.
Vishal has also co-authored a paper along with Dr. David Pearson and Dr. Fiona Kennedy titled, “The Life Skills Assessment Scale: Measuring the life skills of disadvantaged children in the developing world” and published in Social Behavior and Personality: An international journal, Volume 42, No 2 (2014).

K.Thiagarajan(“Thiagu”), Chief Operating Officer, Agastya International Foundation
Mr. Thiagarajan heads the operations of Agastya International Foundation, a non profit which the runs world’s largest hands-on science education program serving the education needs of economically backward school children. Besides operations, he is involved with Visioning, Strategy, Scaling, Policy, People, Funding, Innovation and Development of products/services for the foundation.
A Chemical Engineer from IIT Madras, he holds an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad and has spent 33 years working in corporate sector serving diverse sectors such as Engineering, IT, IT Enabled Services & Infrastructure as President, MD & CEO before moving to the social sector with Agastya 5 years before. He periodically lectures and works with students in leading Business Schools including the IIMs, Indian School of Business in India and Global schools such as Yale School of Management, London Business School, London School of Economics and Kellogg in Nothwestern. He is well travelled and has a wide range of interests in Sports and traditional Indian music.
