Getting started - what you need to do now

By this point you've probably read up on the whole Storytelling Project and are raring to go. Here is a very simple list of things you will need to do. For any further help or advice please don’t hesitate to contact us at Good luck!

1. Think about what you want to learn

We have an extensive guide on our thoughts about what to ask and how to do it in a way that will ensure you get meaningful quantitative conclusions from your listening project.

2. Design a form

To build a customised form you will need a Facebook or GlobalGiving account, but it only takes 60 seconds to create and anyone can do it. Further advice on this issue can be found here

3. Recruit and train volunteers

Advice is here.

4. Collect stories from your community

This is something that you recruit volunteers to do.

5. Send back collected stories and wait for us to transcribe them.

This will take up to two weeks and advise on how to send us your completed forms can be found here.

6. Analyse, reflect, learn and repeat.

Start with our interactive tutorial that demonstrates how to use the story centered learning tools.

Practice building two story collections and comparing patterns in them here.
