Clean Water For Drinking

In the year 2007, a t Kiminini Kona Division in Bungoma North District, the water service Trust Fund supported a water and sanitation project through the Lake Victoria North water and services Board. The area had a shortage of safe drinking water as the residents were using unprotected springs and unprotected hand dug wells as a source of water for drinking. This used to make the residents particularly children who were normally taxed with the task of fetching water go for hours to collect water for their families. The children missed school lessons and also it was a source of water borne diseases. The project came in handy and harnessed water and supplied it by gravity scheme and distributed to he market, schools in the area and community water points. Now the hustle for water and distances traveled to fetch water reduced and water is safe for drinking.
