East African Fisheries Projects Get Support From European Union.

Fisheries in East Africa had been of low standards since a long time. European Union offered help to them so as to improve the condition. They gave them more than sh.35.9 million to implement 32 national and regional fisheries project. The project would be completed in June 2011 to strengthen fisheries management in the countries involved. The project will ensure that the fisheries resources in the water under these countries are exploited in suitable manner.They also target to review their challenges and successes and come up with ways that will boost fisheries. The managers think that if the money is well used within the set time it would spur investment and growth of sub sector projects. It has been developed in order to increase food availability and reduce poverty rate.
