Promoting Food Security In Molo Sub County Through The Foundation Of Farmers Field Schools

About of years ago, many people in my community were doing hunger due to food insecurity that was arising from lack of enough land, poor souls poor practices and also bad weather. This attracted the attention of an NGO ( African 2000 Network in the area). This was to help the people of Molo subcounty to eradicate poverty and improve on food security. It all begun by the formation of groups which were called farmer field school (FFS) where people were trained on better farming methods the use of improved seeds, application of both organic and inorganic fertilisers and agronomic practices and also helped to implement them. African 2000 Network also trained people on collective marketing whereby farmers had bring their main enterprise to the collecting centers and then sell them collectively which enabled them to get profits and also find market easily. This in the long run improved the livelihooods of people in Molo county.
