The Hyena's Prey

Agala, the old man and this equally old wife, Ganda, lived by a river bank in a little hut that was plestered with grey river clay and hatched with dry bulshes. The old woman had a shall graden near their hust which she werered with rive water and in which she grew different kind of grain and vegetable itagala had a bow some errow have negative that the old couple had squirels one would have negned that the old couple had everything they needed and that they were a happy couple however this was not so the old couple were very sad because they had never had what they wanted most a child Ganda was the sadder of the two since her husband being ened that it was entirely her fault that they had so childrenhe treated her unkindly he often shouted at her and always pretended that her there was something wrong with everything she cooked if she carefully prepared his favourite dish pounded pumkin with stew caterpilars he would say that the pumkin was watery and the caterpilers tested if she made millett meal he would complain that niller meal he would complaine that millet gave him a stomach ache and asit her why she did not make pounded pumkin like the previous day this frustated ganda very much
