The coming together of women to form a group that would help them stop idling in their homes was a good idea.This women group located in Katwekera in Kibera Slums,consists of about thirty women with a passion to change their livelihood.As a source of economic opportunity they decided to raise chicks. This consists of being given young chicks.They would be expected to raise the young chicks into big chickens.Afterwards they were expected to sale the chickens in the market place.The project was started by a church.The women were realy inspired .The rearing of chicks are done in their homes.The church philanthropically donates the young chicks to the women in the group.The hardworking ones are inspected and added with more chicks on the completion of saling the previous ones.This project provides the women with an economic source of livilihood.
