Please tell a story about a time when a person or organization tried to help someone or change something in your community:

Mentally Challenged Have A Say

An abnormal girl came to my village on the burial of her mother who was living in another region where he died from.As a community custom, she and her siblings had to mourn their mother for around two weeks before thinking of going back to where they lived. The girl was under the care of the grandmother and her older siblings went for local jobs to keep the family moving. On one occassion, she was enticed by some old man who lives on his own with foodstuffs and eventually raped.Being in her condition, she did not take it as an offence but the truth came out after being confroated by the grandmother.A community nurse who is a neighbour to the girl had to examine her and found that the girl had been really raped. The man was reported and was held in remand for several months as his case was being heard. The crazy thing that happened was that no one could offer going to be a witness and moreso did the girl appear in court to give evidence of the act.The man had to be left alone yet those who witnessed claim that he was the one who comitted the act.
