A Wound In The Heart

A WOUND IN THE HEART St Monica women group,Sirimba Catholic Parish,Bunyala District,Busia county had concern for orphans and vulnerable children.The group which has a number of widows affected and infected by HIV/AIDS saw a need of assisting their members and the community affected by HIV/AIDS.A volunteer social worker helped the group carry out needs assessment to over 40 families in the districts which helped him develop, a proposal to World Vision Bunyala.When the project officer from world vision came for site visit the parish priest said that he could not support the issue of women being given money the reason being there is mismanagement of funds by women.Despite clear explanation from the project officer that the WV does not fund money but will work with the group to solve the community problem the priest could not agree.The group is working with SHEDI-KENYA to continue with the failed project especially on issues of health education water e.t.c.
