With the rampant spread of this pandemic there was so much deaths that is the death rate increased rapidly along the country(KENYA). One of the most affected province is Western and in it one of the most affected district was Funyula by then it was under Busia District. As a result of this so many men and women lost the lives a large percentage of them were infected. Many children were left opharns with no able guardians who could take care of them. Some of them dropped out of school due to lack of school fees, some dropped out inorder to take care of young brothers and sisters. Some spent number of days without food while some had one meal a day. With this state growing increasingly bad, the World Food Programme came into carried out to determine the number of opharns affected and the food situation in the district. After a successful investigation where 40% of the children were found to be opharns and adversely affected the NGO started to send food help by distributing the necessary food stuffs and ensuring some of the children go back to schoo; and hence this problem was effectively handled years later after a statistical investigation it was found that most families and opharns had benefited and were in school.
