Kakamega Forest

Kakamega forest is one of the largest and well known forest in Kenya that is under control of the Kenya forest service.whoever over the last decade and early this decade of 2001 and 2010,certain people or hardware business men and women have been finding their way in the middle of the forest and cutting down trees for first this was not noticed but as time went by,the luhya community in kakamega could tell of the changes in weather patterns because the effect had become evident and a very big percentage of the forest had been destroyed. in 2008 the Kenya forestry service moved and put a strong team of forest service officers to protect the forest and in some time in 2009 some people were arrested and charged in court for cutting down trees in the forest.the practice stopped and today the forest has revived and has or is serving as a tourist destination to both citizens and non-citizen
