A Step In The Right Direction

In a small village called Budokomi has lives a short middle aged lady Nekesa.Her husband tied two years ago and she lives in a small thatched house with her tree children to one son and two daughters.After her husband death.She narrates how co-wife with family support took away evething including the only cow the husband left.people have lived in abject poverty as heir staple food cassava has been stricken by disease and takes almost 2 yrs to mature in 2006 kenya hoticultural development programme has introduced a natural growing crop called bechilli (pili pili kali)in partnership with local community based organisation Bidii development initiative.Nekesa planted 1/4 acre if children and produced 210 kgs which she later sold to mace foods company in Eldoret Kenya 2Shs 100 per kilogram. As she smiles Nekesa narrates has she used the money to 10kg a cow which gives her tree liters of milk daily,She also bought two pig and bicycle to his son for boda boda business milk have cost 10 shs per liter and now she says she is able to buy house hold commodities like soap and match box.She says chilli have was eneglicted cold her.
