ZAKKI (www.ZakatKasih.org) is an organization that focuses on helps the elderly and people with disability get better livelihoods in order to build an inclusive community in Indonesia. ZAKKI focus to help the elderly and people with disability who working in the informal sector to get better livelihood through micro-business management assistance and giving them exposure to the greater market.
Globally, Indonesia is the fifth-largest elderly population in the world. Despite the increase in the number of elderly, ageing has not yet been identified as an important policy issue, as can be seen from the lack of access to social security and social services for the elderly. Only 8.1 percent of older persons receive an old age pension, while around 24 million elderly who work in the non-formal sector have no old age security. And many elderlies actually provided support for their families.
We are conducting programs for the elderly : 1. The elderly micro-business development program by 2 batch help: urgent needs and microbusiness aid; 2. Training on how to design finances (financially independent) on the old days; 3. The elderly physical health program in the form of tai-chi training per month neighbourhood; 4.Special Quran study class program for elderly Muslims at the Neighbourhood level; 5. Special training/learning program for the elderly at the neighbourhood level.
Elderly and beneficiary families. ZAKKI Program indirectly relieves the moral and material burden of the families of the elderly. Creating an inclusive elderly community for Indonesian people. So that the Indonesian people can accept old age without fear.
