Summary

In just one year, Lady Mitz Foundation (LMF) has expanded its programming to include lasting Entrepreneurial and Technological skills training; an online bridge to independence income generation for Nigeria youths, known as LMF Igwebuike Tech Entrepreneurial Kamp (LITEK). This project will train and empower the youths (18-30) to work for themselves by giving them access to entrepreneurial and technological acumen to thrive in the global Marketplace. Our goal is to train 21 youths by 2025.

Challenge

Presently, LMF sponsored youths who graduated college since 2020 and many others have not found jobs in Nigeria. According to research, Nigeria has unemployment rate of 33%. That means that 1 out every 3 Nigerians has no job. One major cause of unemployment in Nigeria is the disparity between job opportunities and the growing number of young people entering the labor market each year. Additionally, limited access to quality education and skill development programs further exacerbates this issue.

Solution

Some remedies to alleviate Nigeria unemployment include reforming the country's educational system, developing infrastructure, empowering youngsters to work for themselves, and making resources more freely available (legit.ng). Also, a seasoned entrepreneur who hires online gig workers once asked me, "why can't we find skilled Nigerian entrepreneurs to hire?" This revelation steered our direction to cultivate and develop them. Hence, this vision, LITEK was born - A hope for better tomorrow.

Long-Term Impact

LITEK's mission is to provide young adults with lasting entrepreneurial and technology skills, positioning them for sustained online income generation and elevating Nigeria's footprint in the digital realm, as well as genuinely transforming lives. LITEK is reshaping the future for Nigerian youth, instilling professionalism and paving their way to financial independence - The ultimate empowerment; with LITEK, Nigeria youths will actively partake in the booming 355+ billion-dollar gig economy.
