Aspire Rwanda provides hard-working young people with the skills and confidence to make their own choices which allow them to become self-sufficient. For the past 7 years, Aspire Rwanda has witnessed the transformation that occurs in youth's lives when they complete our vocational skills training. Our graduates are able to use their skills to secure jobs, start their own businesses. Doing so, they break the cycle of poverty. Last year we trained 100 persons and the employment rate is 85%.
In the areas that we serve we have met many young high school drop outs unable to find employment and affected by extreme poverty. We would therefore like to expand our services to this group and start a program that will help young people (women and men) improve their livelihood through vocational skills training.
Youth Sponsorship Program (YSP) will connect vulnerable young people with Technical and Vocational Education training (TVET). Through this program, Aspire Rwanda will identify and sponsor vulnerable young girls and boys who would like to pursue TVET in a program of their choice that can be completed within one year. Selected young people affected by poverty and unemployment will be interviewed, sponsored and guided by Aspire Rwanda
Once the first group of 100 students have graduated and obtained jobs, we will assess their income level to implement a tuition loan model. With this model, students will pay either some or all of the fees associated with their education over a certain period of time. To implement this sustainable program, Aspire Rwanda is looking for individuals or organizations passionate about helping young people, specifically in gaining the necessary skills to secure jobs and improve their lives.
