We have had a successful first two terms at our Rarieda Training & Resource Center with 125 youth undertaking their various technical vocational training courses in tailoring, hairdressing, carpentry, electrical, welding, plumbing, masonry and ICT; and an additional 180 youth participating in career guidance and work readiness programs. The courses also include co-curricular studies in life-skills, entrepreneurship and small business enterprise. Most students will be undertaking their practical work placement attachments in the coming 1-2 months. We are so proud of their progress and hard work!
As we enter into our final school term of the year in September, we are sending out a last appeal for you to help us meet our funding target of $7,500. We thank everyone for your generosity and support thus far. We have just another $1,450 to go. Let's pull together and make the full scope of this project a reality! We are gearing up to move this project into action beginning October so that our center is fully equipped for the new students' arrival in January 2020.
Thank you everyone again. As we say in Kiswahili, Asanteni Sana!
