For children of vulnerable families in Taiwan, dream is hard to achieve, such as entering higher education or even buying a pair of sports shoes. Most vulnerable children and youth have to give up their dreams due to family financial issues. Instead of heading for their dreams, they have to find ways to reduce the financial burden of the family. Aiming to eliminate the gap between rich and poor, this fund supports vulnerable children and youth to have the right to seek dreams.
For children and youth of vulnerable families in rural Taiwan, dream is luxury. With meager income, the family already has difficulty in maintaining basic life. Seeing this, most children want to ease or at least not to increase the financial burden of their family, they give up dreams: such as pursuing higher education or a pair of suitable sports shoes and choose to work as soon as possible. With lower education, it is hard to find a job with better pay; the poverty and vulnerability repeats.
Aiming to eliminate the gap between rich and poor, this fund supports vulnerable children and youth to have the right to seek dreams. By supporting school fees, learning and living equipment, or clothes that their family can't afford easily, the children do not need to "sacrifice" their dream and future. Ensuring the vulnerable children and youth can have an equal right to pursue higher education and seeking dreams.
This project aims to encourage children from disadvantaged families to continue their studies and grow up happier as well as ensure the vulnerable children and youth can have an equal right to pursue their dreams. Help about 500 disadvantaged children and youths a year continue learning and maintain basic life by reducing the financial burden of their families. Because of the opportunity to grow up happier and keep on learning, they can possess more chances in the future and get rid of poverty.
