MASENO YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROJECT

QUATOR YEAR REPORT 

SEPTEMER-JANUARY 2018

 

Introduction:

In the spirit of millennium development goals and service to humanity in the community Maseno Youth Empowerment Project gives honor to all our partners who have journeyed hands with us in fulfilling this through transforming the society. Academic performance at Ebumbayi Primary School has improved due to school feeding program. Trainings to members are on-going improving their livelihood, inspirational talks are energizing youths for common course of working hard at school and to enhance peace harmony and unity in the community. Land at Ebumbayi School is in preparation to feeding four hundred pupils in the school

Actual activities:

Schools visitation for motivational talk

  • Kerongo Secondary School: Inspirational talk
  • Precious Lamb Academy: Inspirational talk
  • Ebumbayi Primary school: Oversee farm preparation, spiritual talks, and a talk on decision making and being focus,
  • Kayila Primary School: Visited two times for spiritual talks and a talk on decision making and being focus,
  • Ekwanda High Schools visited for motivational talks

We have begun the year well. Ebumbayi Primary School farm has been harrower and the second digging will follow soon to break the lamps into fine soil in readiness for planting.

We have purchased fertilizer and certified seeds. And the organic manure prepared by pupils.

We are happy to report that pupils had subsidy of maize from last year to continue school feeding program.

Schools visitation:

We have managed to visit a number of schools around following political unrest in our nation. We addressed the issue of peace, harmony and unity among children from different ethnic communities. Among the schools we have visited include Kerongo Secondary School, Ekwanda Secondary School, Mariwa Secondary School, Precious Lamp Academy, Ebumbayi Primary School, and Enametsa Primary School.

Loaning:

This is on-going. Members took loans to the tune of KSH. 4000 – 50000 depending on demand and purpose of the loan. Youths have initiated businesses while others have boosted their on-going businesses.

Training

One training has been done on crafts (bead bags making) we expect to launch the other soon.

 

Marry go-round:

This activity binds members and instills the sense of care within members. Members at a sitting collect amount of money agreed upon and given to one member. This gives financial boost and support to members of the group.

Conclusion:

Maseno Youth Empowerment Project is a life changing project. Many lives have been change and are changing. Though Globalging, we have out-reached and hope to touch many lives as we will be enabled by our partners.
