The GIT program provides impoverished elementary and middle school girls in Siem Reap, Cambodia with free, innovative and career-centered computer and technology education. Over the course of three years, 25 girls will learn and master the invaluable technical, mathematical and critical reasoning skills necessary for them to become the first generation of women in technology for their impoverished communities. There are currently no female IT career available in Cambodia. In Cambodia, all the IT jobs are only available to male, it is a male dominant career. Female especially children that come from poor families, they are financially not able to afford to pay for such education.
We will train, mentor, connect them to local communities technology businesses. We will connect these girls to local business as intern on the 2nd year of the program Providing them the access needed to pursued a career that is male dominant. This will help them lift their families out of poverty.
We will be able to lift a child out of poverty and enable them to create brighter future for themselves and families. These girls will have the opportunities to change the future once they graduate and are place in the communities with job. They will have the power to impact other girls life through their success.
