Summary

This project will enhance -Ecotourism infrastructural development as livelihood options to 27000 inhabitants through employment opportunities and sustainable income.It will help provide -Field equipment to the staffs/rangers for regular patrolling and surveillance.It will also help -Capacity building/ strengthening for the rangers to give skills to unemployed youths for employment-It will safe remaining aquatics, wildlife,forests will contribute reduce CO2 emission

Challenge

About 80% of the population depends on rain-fed crops, domestic gardening, livestock, fisheries,agriculture and Tourism. However unemployment,population growth and migration is increasing demand for food and greater exploitation of land have together posed widespread concerns about the sustainability of agriculture, our beaches, fishing, livestock, community protected areas.As a result and with effect of climate change kombo south is increasingly experiencing serious environmental degradation.

Solution

This will help revive the ecosystem and ensure the above mentioned livelihoods are sustained, and also ensure to generate more sustainable livelihood option for the local community through employment opportunities and Ecotourism strategies, and to help them protect their forests and wildlife,fish,beaches,seas from pollution and plastics through more efficient and effective use and regular patrolling and surveillance the activities to be funded by this project shall undoubtedly solve that.

Long-Term Impact

It will enable protected areas and Bolongfenyo to serve as a suitable habitat for migratory endangered and rear species attracting eco-tourists and visitors from around the world creating employment opportunities and promoting sustainable natural resources use practice through community base management. The funds shall enhance the restoration of ecosystem through community participation and ecotourism facility in place. It shall create livelihood options to the local inhabitants,sustainability.
