WRITE FOR GOLD is educational project that seeks to assist school children in the deprived and hard to reach communities in the East Mamprusi district to develop a legible, fluent handwriting and reading skills. The project is targeted at school children between the ages of 6 years to 10 years who are at the lower primary. We will send our project volunteers to these deprived and hard to reach communities where there are no teachers to assist the school children to learn how to read and write.
School children living in the deprived and hard to reach communities in the East Mamprusi district do not have access to teachers. They sit in classrooms every day but there are no teachers to teach them because of this some parents prefer sending their children to farm instead of sending them to school. As a result of lack of teachers in these deprived and hard to reach communities children are being denied of their constitutional right which is access to education.
Our trained project volunteers will go to these deprived and hard to reach communities and teach the underprivileged children. The project volunteers will distributes writing materials such as; my first and second copy books, A1 exercise books, pencils, erasers, sharpeners to each of the children. The project volunteers are trained to give special attention to these underprivileged children to ensure that at least each child is able to read and write at early stage.
Writing and Reading are very fundamental skills every child need to acquire at early stage in education. These underprivileged children will develop a legible, fluent handwriting and reading skills that will enhance their education. Because the of presence of our project volunteers in the schools more children will have access to teachers and parents will no longer send their children to farms. The project is expected to assist 1000 underprivileged children to learn how to read and write.
