Women Empowerment Skills Program in an underdeveloped fishermen village in Muara Gembong subdistrict Bekasi Region, West Java Indonesia is aimed to train, develop, and improve the skills of disadvantaged girls and women in this village. This project will make the disadvantaged girls and women have skills to work and do business independently to help their basic needs.
Challenge: Young girls and women (unemployment) who live in poverty in this remote fishing village must be empowered and educated with skills so that they can work or do home business to improve their lives economically. There are many young girls who cannot continue studying in formal school because they are poor, and this is also big challenge to train and educate them with good skills.
Solution: YPPB Foundation will conduct training and courses in basic skills, regular training on basic home business (sewing skills, making crafts, making cakes/culinary) and basic administration/computer to young unemployment girls. These activities will be the proper solution the the poverty problem faced by the residents in this poor fishing village.
The programs' objective is to achieve the empowerment of young girls and women in this poor fishing village by training, skilling, and educating them. When they have good skills and can get job or they can run business and they can provide financial supports to their families. The skilled girls and women will have long term impact to their lives, and they can share the skills to the next generation in the village, to build the village and reduce poverty, and at the end to eliminate poverty.
