Support the 23 graduates from the class of 2019 of White Pass High School (a low income, rural school in Lewis County, Washington) to achieve their educational goals. Our applicants are pursuing further education in programs ranging from Nursing to Diesel Mechanic to Computer Science and Business.
For 55 years, the White Pass Scholarship Committee has helped graduates in the White Pass School District achieve their post-secondary goals--through a trade school, community college or university. As a committee, we spend many hours going over transripts, work history, community activities, and student essays and interviewing all the individuals who apply for scholarships. Our job is serious, impartial and unbiased in selecting recipients.
Each year, through generous contributions by alumni, businesses and individuals, combined with memorial scholarships and proceeds from our annual auction the White Pass Scholarship Fund provides $30,000 to $55,000 in financial support to White Pass High School graduates. With this support scholarship recipients are pursuing continuing education ranging from trade school certificates to university degrees.
Our scholarship recipients have gone on to become Engineers, Electricians, Computer Engineers, Teachers, Nurses, Entrepreneurs, Politicians, Artists, Farmers, Police, Social Works, and the list goes on.
