The overall goal is to create the conditions for establishing an inclusive society through improving the capacity of educational institutions, increasing public awareness and access to teaching staff and students, and preparing disadvantaged students for more comprehensive integration into the community.
Sarajevo Canton has the largest number of secondary vocational schools in BiH, and the number of disabled students that are included in the teaching process is very small. The general objective is to create conditions for the establishment of an inclusive society by improving the capacity of educational institutions, changing public awareness and access of teaching staff and students, and preparing disadvantaged students for more comprehensive integration into the community.
With this project we will draw the attention of the public and the competent institutions to the lack of inclusive education and to the lack of access to the teaching staff of these schools. First of all, mapping of secondary vocational schools in Canton Sarajevo will be done to gain insight into their capacities and the number of disadvantaged students attending these schools. Once this is done, preparations will be made to implement the key project activities.
The aim of the project is to provide the recommendations made for the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports after successful implementation of the activities and the completed report, that each secondary vocational school will have at least one or two pupils in each class of first grade disabilities. This would contribute to the active activation of children with disabilities to enable them to live after their education, rather than social benefits.
