Our goal is to provide personal and group support for young people taken into state custody. We undertake organising coaching and holding activities dealing with personal development for children raised in children's homes in order to help these young people to find their own resources. We want them to be aware of their worth and to know that their disadvantaged situation is nothing more than a temporary state, a difficult starting point which can be left behind.
In Hungary in 2018 the number of young people living in the care of the protection system is 23 534. They need to be separated from their family for their own protection. The state guarantees the basic physical necessities for these young people but it does not take care of their mental health, does not enable them to find their resources and develop their characters. These children blame themselves for their current situation, they are reflected in their behaviour.
We would like to assist the young people taken into state custody with finding their resources, in order to make them able to get on with their lives with a strong personality. In the group activities regarding personal development we lean on the safe, respectful and supportive attitude of the partners. Our project provide an effective way to find solutions for problematic situations. If these children get the proper assistance then they will be able to use their skills and resources effectively
The project enabling 50 young people to develop a strong personality. Our goal is strengthening of their self-confidence and showing them their skills and strengths. When they realize that it is possible to get through on this stage of their lives, then it becomes more likely that they will be able to take care of themselves and of the welfare a of their families, and to be a satisfied and useful member of our society.
