Cameroon- Africa is one of the countries in the equator where the sun is the hottest. There are about 2000 people in need of clean water. We have chosen to place a water well at Alfred and Sarah Bilingual Academy Sangmelima, South Region because we want the kids in particular to have clean water when they are in school. The children currently have to carry enough water for all their water needs for the whole day to school with them. By noon they have already run out.
Alfred and Sarah Bilingual Academy Sangmelima is located in Cameroon - Africa, one of the countries on the equator but with very limited sources of springs not to mention clean water. The kids at the school run out of clean water by noon. Over 2000 villagers will benefit from this water well and most importantly the students at this school will always have clean water. They will have the opportunity to take some home at the end of the school day instead of making another trip to a dirty stream.
Provide clean water for over 171 kids at the school and 2000 villagers. Teach the kids the importance of clean water. Eliminate water born disease like diarrhea, worms, dysentery, cholera
Eliminate the extra time kids spend after school walking miles for clean water or water in general. Enable the school to have a reliable source of water as they continue to build more classrooms. Encourage development in the area as people will be encouraged by the availability of a clean and reliable source of water to build new businesses.
