Water for Children Africa (WCA) is fortunate to have partnered with Fatimoh and Globalgiving to raise funds to bring clean sustainable water to rural villages in Africa. Through this effort we have raised about $500. Although these funds are not enough to start a project, they will be pooled with other funds and a water rain harvesting system and storage will be installed at a primary school in drought prone Machakos region in Kenya at a cost of $900. A team of volunteers is training in San Diego and will be travelling to Kenya in July 2010 to install this water system.
WCA’s initial hope was to raise $6000 by July 2010 through Globalgiving. Half of the funds would go to install rain collection tanks in Machakos - Kenya and the rest to drill a well in Liberia, West Africa. Even though we are off by a large sum, WCA is grateful for every penny raised because it’s going to save children’s lives. Every dollar counts. Please help us reach our projected goal before the volunteer team leaves for Kenya in July and for Liberia in August 2010. Join us to save a child’s life through safe sustainable water. Donate today and tell a friend. Thank you to all.
