This project will help women voice out there concerns on effects of domestic violence to there families and children through a video documentary.this will educate over 4000 people in of eastern Uganda communities reduce violence and become change agents. women will be the story tellers of there experiences which will enable others learn from the stories and take a step to stop violence .Women will also be educated to become change agents in there own villages.
There is increased domestic violence in communities of Jinja. A number of women have continually been battered and most of all killed including there children.this has been attributed to the cultural practices,the patriarchal systems poverty and lack of education and awareness of the communities.this has led to high cases of violence which have led to death,increased levels of disability,lack of self esteem and above all women's low level of participation in development
Through creating awareness in communities about the effects of domestic violence.the project will also change attitudes and behavior towards violence.Also through making of the video documentary will enable the women express there experiences and learn more about violence.
The project will lead to reduced cases of violence in communities and lead to development of families improved standards of living and a better life.The project will also lead to the respect of human rights.
