This project plans to build a Vocations Training Center and train 250 out-of-school girls in sewing and fashion designing, baking and pastries, Detergents and soaps, Bags and shoe making, hair styling and cosmetology.
Nearly a decade of insurgence in Nigeria has led to large scale destruction and disruption, and displaced over one million people. Hundreds of children especially girls, have been thrown out of school as a consequence. Though the government has made efforts to quell the insurgence, the girls, without skills and means of livelihood, and faced with a bleak and uncertain future, are turning to prostitution and crime for survival. This project will train 250 of such girls to acquire various skills
This project will provide skills to 250 out-of-school girls in sowing and fashion designing, baking and pastries, bags and shoe making, hair styling and cosmetology. This will economically empower them and help them live better lives and curtail their involvement in prostitution and other social vices. This is intended to further alleviate their poverty and improve their standards of living.
The project aims to provide opportunity for 250 girls who hitherto had no prospects, to rise out of poverty and enhance their living standards. This in turn has the potential of providing further opportunities to other people who may be employed or otherwise engaged by the girls so trained. The larger community then becomes better developed and secured.
