Many Nairobi Youth who live in slums areas of Kibera, Dagoreti, Kawangware and Ngando do not have technical vocation skills.
Levozy offers one year technical training at a cost of US dollars $50 per month. This enables them get skills for self-employment and are able to sustain themselves.
In Nairobi we have slums like Kibera, Kawangware, Ngando and Dagoretti. Here lives youth who are poor, unemployed, and have no valuable vocational skills. Many of them are school drop-outs because of lack of school fees.
Levozy is based in Dagoretti- Nairobi with the above mentioned slums as our catchment area.
These youth continues to idle around the slums, taking drugs and being involved in petty crimes making living in these areas difficult for other members of the community.
In the year 2014, we plan to train 200 students. We project that income generated internally, students contributions plus confirmed donor funding. We may have a shortfall of US $ 30,600 which we are sourcing.
This shall help the students acquire skills for self-employment and even create jobs for other youth.
Once fully trained, the student shall become responsible citizen, improving the economy of the community where they live.
